इस tense के वाक्यो से गियात होता है की कार्य भूतकाल (past) में हुआ था किन्तु कार्य के जारी रहने मे कुछ भी गियात नहीं होता है।
हम past indefinite tense में verb की 2nd form का use करते है लकिन Interrogative और Negative sentences past indefinite tense rules मे हम verb की 1st form का use करते है क्योकि Interrogative और Negative sentences मे हम helping verb 'did' का use करते है जोकी पहले से ही 2nd form है।
Rules for making past indefinite tense
1. Affirmative sentences : subject + verb(2nd form) + object
Example - 1. i went.
2, she liked him.
2. Negative sentences : Subject + helping verb (did) + not + object
Example -1. I did not go.
2. They did not play.
3. Interrogative : Helping verb + subject + verb( 1st form) + object ?
Example - 1. Did i go ?
2. Did we play?
wh word type - wh word + did + subject + verb( 1st form) + object ?
Example - why did they invite her ?
NOTE - हम never के साथ verb की 2nd form का उसे करते है।
Example - He never said it.
2. I never believed.
some important rules of past indefinite rule -
Rule - 1 : Past Time की दो साथ - साथ होने वाली क्रिया के बतलाने का लिये
past indefinite tense use करते है।
Example - she cooked while the children played.
Rule - 2 : यदि किसी sentence में ago, yesterday, last week, last month, last year, in 2002 इत्यादि शब्दो का प्रयोग समय का बोध करने के लिये किया गया हो, तब उस वाकया की क्रिया past indefinite tense में होती है।
Example - Manoj came here yesterday.
Rule -3 : Habitual action का बोध करने के लिये past indefinite use
करते है। (often, always, used to)
Example - Deepak always came late.
