Past continuous tense in Hindi

इस टेंस के वाक्यों द्वारा ज्ञात  होता हे कि काम  भूतकाल में पूरा नहीं हुआ , बल्कि जारी रहा था।

इन वाक्यों की पहचान : वाक्यों के अंत में रहा था , रही थी , रहे थे, इत्यादि शब्द आते है।

Identity In English: subject + helping verb^{1 form} (WAS/WERE) +ing form + object

structure of past continuous  

Affirmative sentence:  subject + helping verb^{1 form} (WAS/WERE) + main verb^{1 form} +ing form + object .

Example –(a). I was going.

                 (b). She was singing.

 

2.     Negative sentence : subject + helping verb (WAS/WERE) +main verb^{1 form} + ing form +not + object

Example – (A). I was not going.

                (B). you are not coming.

   3. Interrogative sentence:  (A).  helping verb + subject + main verb^{1 form} + ing form?

Example – (A). was I going ?

              (B). were you coming?

(B). WH –WORD type

Wh – word +was/were + sub + main verb^{1 form} + ing form + object ?

Example  -  why was Dhananjay  working hard ?

a)     वह पढ़ रहा था।

b)    वो खेल रहे थे।

c)     राखी और रूबी क्रिकेट खेल रही थीं।

d)    जब मेरी बेटी गा रही थी, मैं लिख रहा था।

e)     राखी और रूबी अपने कपड़े नहीं धो रही थीं।

f)      रोहित मेहनत नहीं कर रहा था.

g)     कार तेज नहीं चल रही थी.

h)    क्या कार तेज़ चल रही थी?

i)       क्या हम समस्याओं पर चर्चा नहीं कर रहे थे?

j)       राखी और रूबी अपने कपड़े क्यों धो रही थीं?
