Onam is a traditional and widely celebrated harvest festival
in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It is one of the most important festivals in Kerala. and is celebrated with great fervor . It is celebrated
every year in august and September. People celebrate it with full fervor like –
Pookalam: People create complex and colorful flower Rangoli designs, known as "Pookalam,"
in front of their homes.
Onasadya : The highlight
of Onam is the grand feast known as "Onasadya." It is a vegetarian
feast consisting of a variety of dishes, served on a banana leaf.
Games and Sports: Various traditional games and
sports competitions are organized during the festival, adding an element of fun
and entertainment.
